For the Love of Haiti

I recently went on a Vision Trip through Global Orphan Project to Haiti with my son. We were unsure whether we would be able to go due to recent riots and flights canceled into the country. When word came through that we were indeed able to go, I was hesitant out of fear and my heart was unwilling to make the journey.

Nothing but the Blood

We recently enjoyed a visit to the greater DC area. With reports of protesters in recent days at the White House, we were unsure of what we may encounter. As we approached the area outside the front lawn, we didn’t see the large protests taking place as noted in the news. We did however see two lone protesters, one with a sign concerning Korea in the middle of the road and another standing next to the fence with a sign that said “Traitor!” A news agency rushed over for an interview but I didn’t know why this particular sign caught my eye.

The Eyes That See

I think that it is safe to say that today we all want to be seen, heard and prove we are valuable in the eyes of those before us. It’s amazing at what this desire can do to us! Moms you know what I’m saying…right!  Sometimes, Taylor Swift’s song, “Trouble” begins among our children the minute we step foot in the car! I know I’m not the only mom since our carpet cleaner…

Cracked Cisterns

My husband and I were recently invited to spend time with those who lead a ministry near and dear to my heart, Secret Keeper Girl. They recently released a new show for Fathers and Sons called “Born to Be Brave.” While we knew some logistics of the weekend, time in prayer, encouragement, etc., and getting to see and hear insights to Father and Son tour, we were not aware of the “conference” style setting. We were 2 of about 30 people gathered in a room receiving teaching on “Labels”. This wasn’t a new concept to me as this teaching was one of my first deep encounters with the Lord several years ago.
