Mom Life: Road Signs

We have entered a new area of training with our older children. Driving!! I can feel my heart beat faster just by typing the word! Teaching them to drive has been…let’s just say….there is not a GPS to guide you through the anxiety, bumps, swerves, near misses, tears and yes, even those wide turns (overly wide turns… eh hem). Sometimes I cannot believe we arrive at our destination unscathed! I’ve always known what the handles on the ceiling of my car were for….really I did. With that being said, never in my mind did actually using them surface! That was until several months ago when one of those wide turns came without the aid of braking. I’ve never grabbed something so fast with all my might as though it could save me from the impending doom ahead. Needless to say, it has become my friend over the past few months. I just hope it will remain intact until my kids carry out the necessary training with responsible driver as their destination.

Lesson 6 with Bob Bender: Into the Unknown

It was my last day of bending therapy with Bob Bender. We spent three long weeks together, had a love/hate relationship, and learned many life lessons in the process. Parting although joyful and welcomed it also brought an unexplained fear.

My time ending with Bob gave way to freedom. I was able to drive again which was so wonderful. For someone who likes to come and go on their own accord, this freedom was sheer glory! I no longer needed a brace or crutches to walk. Physical therapy was going great, although the road ahead was long and daunting, everything was beaming bright. What was this fear about me?

Be Purposeful to the Purpose II

Go as I have told you! Do not delay! Do not sit and contemplate the “what-ifs” nor let fear consume you. Fix your eyes on Me, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Fear not for I am with you.”

Do not let the Deceiver make you believe that you cannot do what I have commanded because you lack education, experience, or appearance. Take heart and know that I’ve chosen you because I gave you a willing heart and your love for me. “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.”

Like Mary, when I spoke of how she was to conceive and carry my Son, she said, ““Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.” Do not doubt your calling, for I am the Great I Am and am sending you! What blessing there is for those who listen and obey! Do not pass up blessing for the pleasing of man but put your faith in action for Me.
